In the title of this book, Kitert asks his readers the same question that Philip asked the Ethiopian eunuch many centuries ago. Like the eunuch, many readers of the Bible today are uncertain what the Bible is saying and seek guidance. Others, quite certain of what they read are nevertheless open to further understanding.
Kuitertaddresses himself to the question of why so many changes are taking place and must take place in the way we read our Bible. He does not intend to provide answers to all questions of faith, nor does he offer a new doctrine of Holy Scripture. Inspiration, the canon and the historical writings of the Bible are discused only as they are related to the general question of how to understand and interpret the Bible.
